Natural Disasters.

So, if anyone knows me, they know that one of my greatest fears is natural disasters.... So folks, being stuck out here in Tropical Storm Debby is something new and rather terrifying for me. Here's the thing, since when are tropical storms accompanied by tonados?! I was not aware of this fact, but now that I'm sitting in my apartment under tornado warning (no longer tornado watch, which is not comforting) I'm a bit concerned for my safety. Luckily, I have five hours of church under my belt so I'm thinking I'm safe.... right?

The only possible good news is that Typhoon Lagoon (along with being more in theme) may not be open for a while... so that's fun... Actually, it just means that I don't get paid, so maybe that's not fun. But it does mean that we have time to hang out in our apartment as roommates and play some more Just Dance. A typical day in the life down here.

Also, after living in a tropical storm (mind you, it's not even a hurricane season yet....) I think that I shall forever remain in a place where natural disasters do not occur. AKA Arizona/Utah/the West. Yup, I think that's the biggest thing I've learned from Tropical Storm Debby. Thank you for limiting my future, Debby, I'm glad we met. (I can't deicide if that's sarcastic or not.. you decide).

Here's to my survival!

Love always,
Ems

Good Times in the 2100 Hall.

And this is the moment when I realize I'm an embarrassment to myself.
And so, I share it with the world.
Cause that's logical.. right?
Hope you enjoy.

Love always,
Ems

p.s. My ward has got some crazy talent.
p.p.s. I promise I will write asap... I actually have a post floating around my head.

Mission Craziness.

 Scott Andrews: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Eric Hill: Leaving to Bulgaria next Wednesday

 Josh Coleman: Indonesia

Skyping with Adam Kent: Frankfurt, Germany
(please notice how many people are crammed in our tiny screen)

Jace Bayles: Paraguay, Joey Eddington: Ogden, Utah,
Zack Jarvis: Birmingham,  Alabama, Scott Carter: Japan

My Best Friend.

The past few weeks have been filled with mission craziness. This means I attended six mission call openings and it was a bit of an overload. See, as a mormon girl attending BYU, you have a great freshman year and then, you have no friends because they all leave on missions. Which, don't get me wrong, is amazing and so good, but it's also kinda difficult.

The hardest mission opening for me was that of Zack Jarvis' last week. I told him I was going to cry and there were definitely a good amount of tears shed. It was an emotional night because I'm so proud of him and all he's done to get that call in his hands but, at the same time, I'm going to miss him like crazy. Few other people understand me in the way that Zack does. He knows every single side of me and has always been there for me and thinking about replacing him is an impossible thought. I don't think it can be done.

At the same time, I can't fully express the gratitude and joy all these boys bring me. All the mission call craziness shows me how truly blessed I am. These boys are the boys that I went to high school with and they are some of the best boys that I know- if not the very best. They have all taught me so much and I can't imagine my life without them. I'm so proud of them and I know that they will all make amazing missionaries. I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for them.

Love always,
Ems

RMYL 215

The next time you have three credit hours just lying around.....
take this class.
It is by far the best class on campus.
I made this video as part of the DVD committee
and I'm now super sad that it's all over.
Dr. Palmer is the craziest professor ever
and makes every Tuesday night the best night ever.

Love Always,

Dream Job.

There are two summer jobs I've always wanted....

An EFY Counselor

and/or

A Nanny.

Considering I could still (technically) go to EFY this year, obviously that's not possible for me to be.

However, I did land a GREAT Nannying job today and I could not be more excited! I start on Friday and am going to be nannying every other week for a family of three boys. I met with their dad today and he hired me on the spot.

Hip Hip Hooray!

And I really love summer and bike rides and deep talks with my best friend, Zack Jarvis.
(this is an A-typical portrayal of our relationship)

Aren't best friends the greatest?

Who cares if we can't name all 50 states when looking at the giant map at my elementary school.

Life is wonderful

Love always,
Ems

Oh Ya!

I graduated! ............. A week ago.... I know I'm slow on the posting but sometimes, I just would rather read other people's blogs than write my own. Anyone know that feeling?  Well, here comes a slew of pictures and stories behind the pictures so.... "Seat belts everyone! (honk, honk)" (that was a magic schoolbus reference if you missed it)

First off, we have the Choir Banquet.
(captions will be below the pictures.
I am always confused about where to put the captions...
so i'm clarifying ahead of time... ONWARD!)

Calista Brianne Whipple. Love her.
My phone calls her Calista BRIAN Whipple...
Gets me every time.

My life Support through High School.
Becca, Lindsey, Alex, Caroline, Me and Calista.
The Girls.
So lucky to be have 6 (Hannah isn't in choir but we still count her)
Girlfriends who are all so close.

 NAMOI!!!
Choreographers of the year!
What an adventure it was to that award...
Three am choreography sessions not advised...
Ever.

 The parentals.
Gotta love them.

ONWARD!
Baccalaureate!

Oh... You get one picture I guess.
Be thankful- we took hundreds.
The Party Gang!
Me, Zack, Morgan, and Zac
(it's a Zac(k) sandwich!!)

ONWARD!
Seminary Graduation.
Ya know what's funny?
My seminary diploma is bigger than my actual diploma.
Is that supposed to mean something?
 Three Amigos:
Jessika, Morgan and Me.
Been friends with this girls since Land Before Time was cool.
I'd do anything for them.

 Family!
YAY!
 The Former Greenfield Ward Girls.
We were ward buds from age 4 until April and then we got separated.
It was tragic, but good.

 All of old Greenfield!
Love that second family.

 Three Amigos and Madres.
I really love this picture.

ONWARD!
Actual Graduation (Finally).
 My Daddy.
Words can't describe how much I love him.
But I think this picture does an almost successful rendering.

 The Movie Watching Friends.
We like to watch chick flicks together- a lot.
They're great and living a floor above Becca and I at the Y!
(With the 32 inch tv Lindsey won at the bowling party- boohya)

The attack hug from my very best friend,
Mr. Zack Jarvis.
I love this picture.

 Still hugging....

 Oh, the cheese.
How precious.

 Zac(k) Sandwich!
Again.
I love both these boys.
Such amazing friends.

I interrupt this slew of picture for a story about these two.
Here's how this worked. I grabbed both of them before they had really seen each other and we took the above picture. Right after, they turned to each other and gave the biggest hug and both started crying. I was fine (no tears) until I saw this and then I cried. It was so sweet. They've been the greatest friends to one another and since Zack is going to BYU and Zac is staying her at ASU, they know it's kinda the end. But true friendship isn't ruined by milage so I know they'll always be friends.
Continuing...

 The Girls.

 My Little Sister- Jordynn.
Second time I cried that night.
(hence my funky eyes)
I love Jordynn with all my heart and not being able to see her every day next year is going to be so hard. However, I know that her senior year will be everything amazing and wonderful and then she can join me up at BYU. Love her.

 Jonathan Lane Sanders.
My Carl at Sadie's and one of the greatest guys I've ever met.
And my secret crush (not really so secret, actually) all through Jr. High and High School.
He's so stink cute and nice.

 Allysun Taylor.
My poster prodigy child and poster nazi team member.
I'll miss her like crazy
but neither of us will miss Ms. Scott.
muwahaha

 Morgan!
Did you know that we had matching night gowns when we were little?
Both our grandmas got them for us and we didn't know we had matching ones (no our grandmas didn't plan it) until we had a sleepover one night. Just proves we were meant to be best friends for life.

My all-time favorite teacher: Tdag, Tmaster, Tswizzle, TdiggityDawg
Dr. Temme.
I had to go hunt him down in the orchestra room to get a picture with him- he's the only teacher I wanted one with. He has made such a difference in my life and I'm seriously going to miss his lame yet funny jokes and super dry humor.
He's on my wedding invitation list and he better come.

Wow. Sorry that was the longest post in the history of posts.
I'll reflect on everything later.
(possibly)

Love always,
Ems

Girls Nights=Love

Man oh man alive, can I just say I LOVE my girlies to death?! I do. :) So we all needed some time together, and Lizzie wanted to cry, and we wanted to laugh and just be girls! Ya know how that goes? Of course you do! {if you're a girl you do.} So here's how the night went down. :)

Calsta arrives, Lizzie arrives. Venting session for a moment.

Venting over, cry your eyes out movie time: A Walk to Remember. {Namoi joins in the middle}

LOVE this quote.

{he is D.A.N.G. fine.}

Wait....Shane West makes our hearts melt again?!?! WHAT?! Not even kidding, we were all BAWLING our eyes out. It was so crazy but wonderful! Why do girls love to cuddle together and cry? mmhhh.... I think I'm in love. :)  With life and romance, no surprise there, right? :)

So then, we decided to hop in the mustang and drive with the top down to Albertson's to Redbox My Sister's Keeper but guess what? They had no such thing in the magical redbox! So we looked around at the movies and they were all on sale for eight bucks {can you say BARGIN?!} And Lizzie saw The Women, said she loved it, and the next second, it was bought! Along with some strawberrry Mentos to please Lizzie and her love and craving. :)

So, if you have not seen The Women and you are a gal, CHECK IT OUT! Oh my goodness, best chick flick of my life!!! You will LOVE it. :) {MiniK joined, and Namoi left}

mhmhmhmhmh. Best Girl's Night movie ever. Can I say that enough? I think not. :) We laughed our guts out, not even kidding. :) It was fabulous.  Schmecca joined like half way through so at the end we went back and did a replay of our favorite parts. Especially, "let me teach you something very important: Nobody hates Saks." or, "She's not in the Vault?! We need to DRAG her into the vault!"

I love my girls. And our girl nights, you forget how much you love girl's nights until you have one again. LOVE. :) And tomorrow, we have girlfriend pictures! YES! Soooo excited! :) And then, New Year's Eve with Mr. R's family. Fun stuff right there, oh yes it is! :) I think I shall go make a To Do list of the things I need to accomplish tomorrow and then head to bed with the most pleasant of dreams! :) Have a wonderful day! :)

Love Always,
Ems

Oh, and in memory, here are a few pictures from our first girl's night ever. :) Gotta love it. :

 Calsta... :)

 Glowing Lizzie? With biodegradable spoon?

yes, we can eat biodegradable spoons. :)

Odd...

Welp, it's kinda five thirty in the morning and I decided since I didn't want to go back to sleep for like fifteen minutes I'd just post cause A. I'm not tired and B. I'd rather post now than today after school when I should be doing homework. :) Anyways, I've been up since four doing homework so that's why I'm up, not because I couldn't sleep. I actually had a really great dream about something good... can't remember. All I remember is that Devin Timothy showed up at my house to go do baptisims with Caleb {but Caleb turned him down} and then I gave him a big hug and he told me that I hugged really tight... hahah. I have no idea why Devin Timothy was in my dream, probably about the randomest thing ever....

Anyways, I'm finally going to upload the pictures from temple week! We went on Tuesday and did baptisims and I must say, we got two super cute pictures! :) Exhibit A: Calsta, Me, and Chris. I look super short in this picture because Cali was standing on the little fountain edge and Chris.. well he's just really tall....

Exhibit B: Pretty much two words: SUPER ADORABLE. I love this pic of Calsta and me so very much, she is definently one of the best girls in the whole world! Love her! :)

So yes, temple week was wonderful, and I loved every moment of it. :)

Weekend report part 1:
Friday we had a home game that we lost by three points! SOOOOO frusterating! I helped with the bullpen which was very much lacking in numbers but we passed out glow sticks that people seemed to enjoy! However, they didn't know they were three years old and kinds not working... hehe. Oh well! I hung out with Mr. R at the game and we spied on little sister throughout all of it... she was with 'her boy'. Oh how I love her! :) It was super freezing all game and after Mr. R and I went to the park where it was even more freezing! We were going to have a fun photoshoot but it was way too cold! :( But we still had lots of fun! :) Especially with Wayne's seat heaters! hehe

Part 2:
Haloween day was chore time and homework th=ime! Oh the joy! jk. but then I went backwards trick-or-treating with my friends which was so very fun! And we watched Red Eye which was super intense.... craziness. A very fabulous night overall. However, I only got one picture... But it's a picture of the two people I love pretty much more than life! :) So it counts as about a million pics! :) drumroll please.....
I'm glad to introduce Grandma Allen and Grandma Fitz! :) Yup, they're my best friends! Love them very dearly! :)

Probably I'm thinking I should go get ready for school now... so I think I will! I hope everyone has a wonderful day today! It is Monday, and honestly, Mondays are rather fabulous! :) So have an amazing day!
Love Always,
Ems
