Life Changing.

I watched Waiting for Superman tonight.
It changed my life.
I already knew I wanted to go out and teach for Teach for America,
but now, I have to go out and teach.

It's just not fair that these kids, who want to succeed in school do not have the opportunity.

Watch Waiting for Superman, it'll change your life.

Why Can't the English?

So I do hope you have all see this movie.
If not, you're missing out.

Today, Becca and I were discussing Professor Higgins' very true point
of how we speak English so improperly.

Ever noticed how when asked,
 "How are you?"
We answer,
"I'm good."

Wrong.
It's "I'm well."

Yet, when you answer like that,
everyone just gets uncomfortable
and the you're in an awkward situation.

Same with when you say
"May I have..."
rather than
"Can I have..."

So yes, Professor Higgins,
we don't speak proper English
(Well, according to him, we Americans haven't spoken it for ages...)
but we do all get along and like each other.

So that's good,
right?

Love always,
Ems

p.s. I'm missing this man in my life....
Oh how I love me some Mr. Darcy.

Soul Surfer

Here comes an advertisement.
But really, you should see this movie.
We watched it tonight for family night and it really is very inspiring.
There's really nothing else to say other than it's excellent and needs to be seen.

Love always,
Ems

Hey.... Hey you!

Do you like my lame titles recently? Good. But guess what? I've found a new love. And it's fabulous. Let me show you a picture........

Um.... Hi, melt-my-heart-goodness-i-think-i-cried-100-times-movie: Masterpiece Theatre Wuthering Heights. It is beautiful and heart breaking and so well made. Alexandra and I had a movie night tonight while writing Thank You cards and we were stunned by this movie. The actors play their parts perfectly and did I mention I cried so many times? And yes, I have read the book but honestly, I need to reread it because I was so confused the first time around that I think I will very much love it this next time. But first I have to finish my other pile of summer reading- I love summer reading. On my list this summer is This Side of Paradise, The Count of Monte Cristo,  Water for Elephants, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and either Persuasion or Mansfield Park- the two Jane Austens that I have not read. I also may be revisiting Pride and Prejudice- how could I not? Any other book recommendations?

Also, is it bad that I already bought the Wuthering Heights movie from Amazon? I couldn't resist. Now I just need to buy Masterpiece Theatre's Emma..... I love that movie.

Guess what else? My best friend comes home tomorrow!

Oh, happiness.

Love always,
Ems

New Years Eve 2010

Here is a movie  put together of our celebrations from last night! We had tons of fun at Conrad's Bonfire and Pig Roast! I cannot believe that this is my last year of High School... It's really a huge year. But I'm excited. Anyways, the movie!

Love Always,
Ems

Newest Top Ten!

Here are my top ten things currently:

#1 Just Dance
Seriously, if you have not played this, you've probably heard about it and how AMAZING it is! Like seriously, best wii game EVER. And whoever got to makeup all the dances had the most fun job on the face of this Earth!

#2 Power Yoga Total Body Workout
Hi, I have a secret obsession with you. No joke. It makes me so zen-esque and I love it like a little kid likes the tooth fairy! It's actually pretty hard, but so worth it! And an amazing workout! Perfect for making up a missed gym day or when you're really angry and want to punch something! Either one! :)

#3 A Bend In The Road by Nicholas Sparks
Started this book last night, am on page twenty, and already, I am obsessed. Yes, I have problems.

#4 Sonny with A Chance!!!!!
Wow, New favorite tv show, much? It's amazing. Go watch it.

#5 My Hammock
My favorite place at my house!!! Especially made better when there is someone to cuddle with. :)

#6 The Last Song
Don't care what others said, I LOVED this movie to the extreme! Seriously, that boy is amazing and I actually love Miley Cyrus tons. Don't judge. I also like Hillary Duff. But that's beside the point. Anyway, I really want to see it again like ASAP.  And, I bawled the entire second half of the movie. And walked out of the theater crying. I call that a good movie. Oh, and I want to see Dear John again.... sigh. Oh romantic movies, you are my favorite. Where did this Nicholas Sparks man come from and why is he not my husband?

#7 Dixie Chicks
Currently, I'm in love with their music. Take that back, I've loved their music forever but have rediscovered them. Don't you love when that happens?

#8 A Great and Terrible Beauty
All I can say is READ THIS BOOK. It's sooo good and I need to go get the rest of the series ASAP cause I'm kinda-sorta-really dying.

#9 Miley Cyrus
Yes, I realize I already said I like her, but she gets her own spot. I think the world gives her too much crap. Get your own life, paparazzi, rather than ruin others-geesh. Plus, I'm in love with her new song from The Last Song called When I Look at You. Um... hi, I like your alto voice and the words to this song and in general, I think you're a dandy girl. That is all.

#10 (which is really my favorite)
GROOVESHARK.COM
Bet you thought Pandora was the best thing to happen to music. Well guess what, you're WRONG! Grooveshark is the best thing ever! Like no joke, I've probably been listening to my grooveshark constantly for the last... of I dunno, two weeks. It's amazing. If you're a music nerd like me, go, listen, be in love.

That is all. :) Hope you enjoy some of the same things as I do. :)
Love Always,
Ems

But should is a relative term, right? Anyways, I'm sitting here listening to the Pride&Prejudice soundtrack. And I am content. :) I should be doing my spanish homework or studying for my AP Chemistry test but....That can wait till tomorrow. :) Anyways, I found another blog that I adore that Emily told me about. Pretty much love. Go {here} to fall in love with me. :)  My family ventured to the movies once again for family night and we saw Sherlock Holmes. Call me a dork, but it totally intrigued me because it's ALL based on chemistry! Ya, I'm a nerd. :) But Jude Law was AWESOME. :)

Yup, he was very dashing in the movie! An excellent movie that I highly recommend. :) There was this movie preview that srsly made me cry, it's for the movie titled Extraordinary Measures and it looks fabmaximum. :) Also, funny quote of the day from Ms. Cali, "Let's stop being nerds for a second and go look at the presidents." hahah. Oh dear. :) Here comes my happiness in the form of pictures:

Oh Frabgous day. :)

Update {part uno}

So, this is the stories/thoughts/radnomness part of the update.

Starting with Monday:

For the wonderful thing called Family Night, we went to see Disney's 'The Princess and the Frog'. mmhhh.....LOVE. major. It's so cute and wonderful and goes back to the classical Disney animation style! Plus, it's set in New Orleans and has FAB jazz music all throughout and is just STUPENDOUS! I highly suggest you go see cause it's for sure worth it! :) LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Tuesday=snuggies and soccer game! Can you say BOOYAH?! Pretty much the bombest thing ever! I felt so dorky yet so ridiculously cool all at the same time! The boys DOMINATED Mesa like there was no tomorrow, it was crazy awesome! Go home Jack Rabbits, this is TORO NATION! bah! :)

I can't remember what day it was, but that doesn't really even matter. Anyhoo, sometime this week I decided I'm in LOVE LOVE LOVE with this guy:

mmhhhya. Let me introduce you to Mr. Harry Conrick Jr., my friends! :) love his stinkin adorable face and his AMAZING voice! Like, I could listen to his songs all day long and never get sick of 'em! No joke! Plus, I LOVE him in P.S. I Love You! He's such a dork! Let us reminisce....

Tender moment... :) Ya, remember, he's the dorky best friend! GAH! He's so crazy funny in that movie! 'I have a sickness.'
'You mean you're rude?'
'Ya...it's now a sickness you can be diagnosed for now.'
Probably one of the funniest parts of that movie. And then they kiss and realize it was like kissing their sibling! That's where the tender moment comes in! :) Seriously, love him. Love the movie. Love Hillary Swank. Love love love love love! :)

So, the above is kinda what I want to do to the AP English readers this summer.... aka be a smarty pants. :) {I'm not really going to, just WANT to}. So here's the story. Melmel and I sit next to each other in English {for the time being...} and we have a CRAZY smart english class. So recently, we wrote an essay on some 'professional essay'. Who deems them professional anyways?! Moving on.... So, our english teacher wanted to either 1. make us feel like idiots, 2. show us how we are complete failures at writing, 3. soldify our thoughts on never passing the AP exam, or 4. her two crown students will never be surpassed in school. {You can choose one of those four options.} So she decided to read two '9' papers to us. Let's remember that most of the class got '4's and '5's, a '9' is pretty much a perfect essay since I don't think they even give 10s. So, our teacher was telling us how one of the girls was very good at taking one word out of the essay and using it to strengthen her argument. This is where the plan came from. Melmel and I are just going to start quoting 'and' and 'the'. Our argument? The pros are bound to use those words SOMEWHERE in their essay we're forced to analyze so we'll look all smart with our single word strengtheners. Yup, we're totally passing the AP exam. Don't even worry. :)

That's all for now! Except I did get some girlfriend pics from Kenzie over at 'For Infinity' {aka 'Those Crazy Girls'  on my sidebar} So I'll share a few that i Love! :) I love them all though.... so it'll be hard. :) But here's a go. :)

We love our books, kay? don't judge.thxs. :)

I know I'm a dork, It's okay, don't tell me. :)

Gotta love pics in the 'stang. :)

That's the first part, actually, really all, of the update! But I will be blogging about tonight, it should be a very fun night! See ya tomorrow then! :)

Love Always,
Ems

Girls Nights=Love

Man oh man alive, can I just say I LOVE my girlies to death?! I do. :) So we all needed some time together, and Lizzie wanted to cry, and we wanted to laugh and just be girls! Ya know how that goes? Of course you do! {if you're a girl you do.} So here's how the night went down. :)

Calsta arrives, Lizzie arrives. Venting session for a moment.

Venting over, cry your eyes out movie time: A Walk to Remember. {Namoi joins in the middle}

LOVE this quote.

{he is D.A.N.G. fine.}

Wait....Shane West makes our hearts melt again?!?! WHAT?! Not even kidding, we were all BAWLING our eyes out. It was so crazy but wonderful! Why do girls love to cuddle together and cry? mmhhh.... I think I'm in love. :)  With life and romance, no surprise there, right? :)

So then, we decided to hop in the mustang and drive with the top down to Albertson's to Redbox My Sister's Keeper but guess what? They had no such thing in the magical redbox! So we looked around at the movies and they were all on sale for eight bucks {can you say BARGIN?!} And Lizzie saw The Women, said she loved it, and the next second, it was bought! Along with some strawberrry Mentos to please Lizzie and her love and craving. :)

So, if you have not seen The Women and you are a gal, CHECK IT OUT! Oh my goodness, best chick flick of my life!!! You will LOVE it. :) {MiniK joined, and Namoi left}

mhmhmhmhmh. Best Girl's Night movie ever. Can I say that enough? I think not. :) We laughed our guts out, not even kidding. :) It was fabulous.  Schmecca joined like half way through so at the end we went back and did a replay of our favorite parts. Especially, "let me teach you something very important: Nobody hates Saks." or, "She's not in the Vault?! We need to DRAG her into the vault!"

I love my girls. And our girl nights, you forget how much you love girl's nights until you have one again. LOVE. :) And tomorrow, we have girlfriend pictures! YES! Soooo excited! :) And then, New Year's Eve with Mr. R's family. Fun stuff right there, oh yes it is! :) I think I shall go make a To Do list of the things I need to accomplish tomorrow and then head to bed with the most pleasant of dreams! :) Have a wonderful day! :)

Love Always,
Ems

Oh, and in memory, here are a few pictures from our first girl's night ever. :) Gotta love it. :

 Calsta... :)

 Glowing Lizzie? With biodegradable spoon?

yes, we can eat biodegradable spoons. :)

Brr!!! I know it's winter!

BRRRRR!!!!! It's cooooold here in Utah! And I'm missing all my homies back in my good 'ole Mesa! Well, had I remembered to bring my connector of camera to computer, I would be showing you some delightful pictures of Mr. West's visit to sunny Mesa, however, I forgot, so we will prolong that post till I get home. :(

I suddenly have the biggest urge to watch The Notebook.... :) I have no idea why, but I super want to. :)

Like really really ridicuously bad. Does anyone have any suggestions on wonderful romantic movies for me to watch?! :) I want to see some new ones. :)

I really want to see two Nicholas Sparks movies that are coming out. First is This
Holy.crap. Cannot wait to see this move in February! :) :) The second is this:
Yes, that is Miley Cyrus. Don't be hatin, kay? First off, I LIKE HER! Like a lot. And second off the movie looks amazing!!! If you don't believe me go {here} um wait.. ya, I CANNOT wait to see it. I have no idea when it comes out but it looks fabulous!!!

Also, has anyone heard of this movie?!Watch the preview {here}. Kay, let it just be known, any movie that has Love Story in the preview already has me stolen and a ticket bought!!! LOVE that song. Plus, this movie looks so dang cute and I just love this girl! She's fabulous. She gained my total respect when she wore a one piece in Mama Mia. I'm sure she didn't really have a say in that but I like to believe she did. :) And She's in Dear John so.... :) LOVE!

Anyways, pretty sure I'm just in a romantic mood right now and that sometimes causes problems like oh... staying up and watching Pride&Prejudice. Yup. I think I shall go do that. :) Merry Christmas Eve Eve! I hope everyone has a wonderful day! :)

Love Always,
Ems
