Good Memories.

Well friends, another weekend sped by and I feel like I didn't even have time to blink.

The good news is,
this is my last week of classes.

The bad news is,
that means finals are in a week.

Let's pray we make it through.

Today, I feel like recounting a bit of history.

All through my life, I have had two best friends.
The kind of friends that are always there for you and
that you spend more time at their house than at your own.
The friends who's moms are your second moms, ya know?

Their names are Morgan and Jessika.
Aren't we cute?
(Morgan is the one wrapped up)
We did everything together.
Jessika was the tom-boy,
I was the girly-girl,
and Morgan was the happy medium of the two of us.

I don't really have a story to go with this...
Just some cute pictures of Morgan and me.
So ya.
Enjoy this blast from the past!

Ah, good times.
I miss being a child.
And Il one those two girls to death.

That is all.

Love always,
Ems

Better with Each Replay.

Morgan tweeted this video. I watched it once and laughed. Showed it to my little brother and teared up I was laughing so much. Watched it a third time and couldn't breath. Maybe Morgan and I just have the same odd sense of humor... But I don't think so.

What a great close to a Monday!

Love always,
Ems

p.s. I promise that sometime I will actually start to blog for real.

Ten Things I Know You Don't Need {want?} to Know.

{yes, this I've posted this picture a thousand times but FB dislikes me and won't allow me to steal another one so... I'm stuck with this one. Plus, it's adorable.}

Here, learn ten things about me.... GO!

1. What did you do ten years ago?
I was definitely in Ms. Pesek's second grade class with that girl above, Morgan. We probably were busy with about eight million hours of dance as Jeanne's Power Force Dancers and our soccer team, the purple dolphins. Along with spending all the other hours of the day at the home of the third essential to our trio, Jessika Bodrero. And I may have been taking piano lessons from piano Paul... But that's a different story.

2. What were you doing one year ago?
Went back and read my journal... and a year ago, I had just broken up with Ryan. Don't know how to follow that one up so it'll stand as is. haha

3. Five snacks you love...
Chocolate Chip Cookies, Apples, M&Ms, Oh's, and...... Slushes. Yup.

4. Five Songs you know all the words to....
This is embarrassing. Belle (opening song to Beauty and the Beast), A Whole New World, Just Haven't Met You Yet (slash all MB songs...), When Will My Life Begin (from Tangled) and Can't Wait to See You Again (yes, by Miley Cyrus). Moving on....

5. Five Things you would do with a Million Bucks.
Open my bakery (em's) in Northern California. Travel across Europe with my best friend. Fly everyone to Scotland for my reception. Have a dream Kitchen. Hire people to clean my toilets and tubs and baseboards and fans for he rest of my life ( I was only going to say toilets and tubs but the list of chores I dislike kept growing...)

6. Five Bad Habits....
Blogging instead of Homework. Reading too much too late. Watching Starting movies at one a.m. Excessive hand movements while speaking. Being Ignorant of the ways of the world (aka talent show moments)

7. Five Things You Like to do...
Be a Beach Bum. Ride my Bike. Read. Write Poetry. Spend hours with my family and friends.

8. Five Things You Would Never Dress in or Buy...
Jeggings. Cow Print. Snake Pants. Heels higher than 3 inches. Wonder Woman Get-up.

9. Five Favorite Toys.
My books (Does that even count?). My laptop. My piano. My brother's mustang. Roxanne (my truck).

10. Five people you tag... No pressure.

Love always,
Ems

p.s no editing went into this so... sorry.

14 Days of Love: Day 12

Today, I love...

Two things. Sue me.

1. I love fancy dresses. Naomi and I were in a prom fashion show on Thursday and I LOVE my dress. I wan it so bad. Doesn't it look like Cinderella? It was super fun to wear it around for the night and twirl in it... yup.

2. I love running from Smart and Final to Hobby Lobby for stuco and stuffing everything into the back of my truck. The picture of Morgan and the popcorn and picture frame and the seriously hundreds of granola bars... yup, that was our afternoon yesterday. If only you could have seen us during the twenty minutes we struggled to get that stupid frame in! You would have been rofling because I most definitely was. Super embarrassing....

That is what I love today.

Love Always,
Ems

14 Days of Love: Day 10

Today, I love

Morgan Ray Davis.

It is her 18th birthday today. (I've decided February is the most popular birthing month- awkward sentence much? I think so...) Anyway, she is definitely the my best friend in every sense of the word and she she gets an awesome post.

Here are the top ten Reasons why I love Morgan:
1. Morgan doesn't mind that I'm possibly the most awkward person in the history of awkward land. No, I'm serious here. I really am the awkwardest person: like the whole refriderator shannanigin... it was bad. Anyway...
2. Morgan like to go shopping with me. Last Chance or Hobby Lobby, it doesn't matter. We just like to shop Emma and Morgan style: too long in one store equals unhappy Morgan and Emma.
3. Morgan sleeps over with me on the weekdays- it's awesome.
4. Morgan is seriously funny. I pretty much pee my pants every time I'm with her because she's so dang funny. I love it.
5. Morgan and I love California equally. We would jump in a car and drive there in an instant if we could. I'm not even kidding.
6. Morgan lets me borrow cloths. Our closets are semi-interchangable. Only semi because we don't live in the same place... that'll change next year.
7. Morgan has always been there for me. Even though we hit some SUPER rough patches in our friendship, we were able to become best friends instantly once we started hanging out again.
8. Morgan is super smart. Like really, she's always been smart (she could read before me- yes, I remember) and she hasn't stopped loving school and learning and it taking AP CALC! That deserves mega respect in my book.
9. Morgan is pretty much the sister that I never had, and we both belong to each other's families- we can interchange which parents we want. It's nbd.
10. Morgan is the most caring and loving person I know. She has listened to al my rants and "But I like Him!"s and everything in between. I know that I can always count on her to be there for me- even after a few years apart.

I'm so incredibly grateful for Morgan in my life. A girl could not ask for a better best friend and I cannot wait for all the crazy experiences we are going to have up at BYU. It's going to be so incredibly fun and wonderful.

I love you, Morgan!

Love Always,
Ems

"Seriously...Odd"

WINTER FORMAL 2010
{The Day Activity}

I feel as though High School Dances are taking over my blog....

Our Day Activity was planned in one night,
debated by my father for a day,
and totally changed in another night.

Here's what went down.
Picnic at Tempe Town Lake.
Light the Night Walk for Cancer at Tempe Arts Center.
Toy Story 3 at Naomi's in the freezing cold
{which was when my date came in handy as a heater...}

Adam and Morgan gangsta-fiving it behind Zac and I

I'm fairly certain that this was not the sculptor's intent when he made this statue....

Adam climbed onto the Rairoad tracks...
my date tried...
and ripped his pants.

The whole team before the walk!

We both had the Gold Ballon which means you're walking in memory of someone.
I walked for my Grandpa Barton
and Zac walked for his soccer coach, Kevin Sullivan.

I got the title from Morgan....
Seriously Odd is her favoritve thing to say and I'm naming the above picture,
"Seriously...Odd."
But Awesome.

It was a fabulous day activity!
{even if I fell asleep at the "best part" of the movie (according to Zac)}
And I cannot wait for the actual dance on December 4th!

I'm off the watch Pride and Prejudice with Morgan!

Love Always,
Ems

Boom Shakalaka, It's Hammer TIme!

Today was a wonderful day
spent on the beautiful campus of BYU.
Future home of.....
us.
Awesome, right?

But want to know what's even better?!
We will be wearing matching pairs of.....
these.

yup,
hammer pants.
I'm in hammer pant love.
Best thing of my life.

So, I posted about a sad subject last time
But let me tell you the goodness
that came from my Grandpa's death.

First,
the outreach of friends was
astounding.
Never have  received so many comforting words.
And I told like 2 people.

Second,
My family.
Because my dad's family lives in Texas.
we RARELY see them.
But I saw my entire Barton family and had
an absolute blast!
{minus all the sad  times, of course}

I have the cutest cousins
and one that I got to know much better
was this stinkin cute girl:
 Chloe.
She is bundles of fun and craziness
and she kissed me on the cheek so many times...
and jumped into my arms for giant hugs...
I loved it.

Isn't family the best?

And driving to my grandma's today,
I realized,
I really love the Salt Lake Temple.
 So pretty.
Especially at night.

Love Always,
Ems

p.s. I enjoy typing in the dark....  even without back-lit keys
and I am listening to Michael Buble.... mmmmhhhhhlove.

I'm supposed to be Asleep...

Instead I'm on blogger.
Go figure.
Story of my life.

Actually,
it's not really.
Cause although I spend time here,
I don't spend that much time...
or so I tell myself.

Anyway,
Let me tell ya,
I really super love Morgan Davis.
If my computer loved me I would upload a pic
but it hates me.
So....
Morgan and I spent the entire weekend together
Rocked my socks
Pretty much we almost peed our pants with laughter numerous times
and we had super creepers like every day
and it was awesom.
Wish I could more fully tell ya all about it.
But she's my bffaeaeaeaeaeaeaea
and after pretty much 3 years of no Morgan
It was one of the best weekends.

Stupid Computer.
Jump in a river.

Anyway,
weekend was great!

Love Always,
Ems

Life....Full Speed Ahead

This is a totally random post, but I'm kinda pro at that, right? Anyway, life has been barreling on faster than Buzz Lightyear. Last week I spent the entire weekend in Tucson at Arizona Girl's State. Probably one of the best decisions of my life. I met some amazing people and although I wanted to cry both Sunday and Monday night, the week sped up Tuesday and everything turned out amazing thanks to some amazing girls, the most amazing city advisor, and a long time on my knees.

Sadly, my camera is broken. Remember that? ya, so no pictures from Girls State. But I was tublr stalking one of the girls, Angela, and her tumblr just makes me crazy happy. She's so cute! Look at this pic of her and her boyfriend:
Yup, heart melting a little lota bit! Plus, he's Jewish which I find crazy cool and yup... So pretty much all my pictures in this post are from her at ayeayeangela.tumblr.com

So, I got home from girls state to a house full of extended family. Mmhh, I love them. We had Caleb's mission farewell on Sunday and then an open house and it's was so CRAZY. I'm sad he's leaving, but I know he'll be amazing and that these two years will be amazing.

Have you ever had those moments where you're just content with life?
Definitely feeling that way. I'm so happy because my family is the best and I love them all so much. Heck, my two older brothers even watched most of Pride and Prejudice with me last night till like one a.m. Granted, they tackled me into the beanbag after and tickled me till I couldn't breath, but you can't have your brothers always be nice, right?

I also love my friends. All of them. Especially Morg and Jess.
{Excuse the ancientness & oddness of the picture} We've had our ups and downs. MAJOR. But ya know what, we've all found out who we are and where we're going, and we've found our way back to each other- I couldn't be happier. They're the greatest supporters in my life, and I'm so grateful for them.

It's also really fun to makeup random blog addresses and then look them up to see if they're taken... and when they're not, I am happy. :) Try it sometime.

Summer makes my life wonderful.

I will start blogging better once I get back from EFY and Scottland, so be prepared.

Love Always,
Ems

p.s. I just realized blogger has a spell check... wow, that would have helped me out eons ago.
